Active Story Time: Movement, Milestones, and Literacy

Where Stories Come Alive: Holistic Development for All Children (Ages 2-8)

Active Story Time is where early childhood education meets developmental support. Our program is designed to support developmental milestones, literacy, and social skill development for all children, blending early childhood teaching with therapeutic support.

Your child isn't sitting passively listening. They're jumping like the rabbit, creating with materials, exploring textures, and connecting with other children through shared story and movement. It's literacy, developmental support, sensory engagement, and genuine fun, all in one small group setting.

Who This Is For:

  • All Children (Mainstream): Perfect for any child who loves stories, learns through movement, needs sensory input, or would benefit from a small group experience to build confidence.

  • NDIS Families: Ideal for children with NDIS plans who are working on developmental milestones including gross motor skills, fine motor control, sensory regulation, and social participation.

What Happens Each Session

Led by our experienced early childhood teacher, every session focuses on holistic learning:

  • Movement & Motor Skills: As the story unfolds, children engage their bodies, building strength, coordination, and body confidence. They might crawl, jump, stretch, dance, or move in ways that match the story's characters.

  • Fine Motor & Creation: Children work with materials related to the story—cutting, threading, gluing, or creating. This builds hand strength and control, which underpins future writing skills.

  • Sensory Exploration: We incorporate textures, sounds, and sensations that match the story, supporting nervous system development and regulation in a safe way.

  • Social Interaction: Children work alongside peers, naturally practicing turn-taking, sharing space, and collaborative play.
