January 28th, February 4th, 11th and 18th

A four-week transition program designed to build the physical and emotional foundations your child needs before starting primary school. Parents stay and participate throughout, so you're learning alongside your child and can continue these strategies at home.

Whether your child is nervous about starting school, needs support with body awareness and coordination, struggles to regulate their emotions, or finds socialising challenging, this program creates a safe, playful space to build the skills and confidence they'll need.

What happens each week
Week 1: Reflexes
We assess your child's primitive reflexes and how well they've integrated. These reflexes are foundational to how your child's nervous system develops. When reflexes haven't integrated properly, they can affect posture, balance, and the ability to cross the midline of the body. All of these things matter for reading and writing. If a child's eyes can't track smoothly across a line, reading becomes exhausting. If they can't cross the midline, letter formation and handwriting are much harder. In week one, we identify what's happening and begin simple, play-based activities to support integration.
Week 2: Core Strength
Strong core muscles are essential for sitting upright at a desk for extended periods. Without core strength, children slump and fidget constantly just trying to stay upright, which means their energy goes into staying in the chair instead of focusing on learning. Good core strength also supports fine motor control, which directly affects handwriting. We use fun, play-based movement activities to build core stability. Your child will be climbing, balancing, and engaging their core through games and challenges that feel like play. You'll learn exactly which activities work best so you can continue them at home.
Week 3: Spatial Awareness
Spatial awareness is your child's understanding of where their body is in space and how to move through an environment safely and confidently. It directly impacts letter formation and reading. When children don't have good spatial awareness, they struggle to understand concepts like left to right, top to bottom, and the space between letters. They might reverse letters or have trouble tracking across a page. In week three, we work through activities that develop this awareness in a playful way. Your child will navigate obstacle courses, explore directional concepts, and build the foundation for reading left to right and understanding page layout.
Week 4: Self-Regulation
A child who can regulate their nervous system can focus, learn, and engage with others. Without self-regulation skills, even the smartest child will struggle in a classroom. We teach simple, practical tools your child can use when they feel big feelings or get overwhelmed. Think breathing techniques, movement breaks, and sensory strategies. These aren't just for school. They're life skills. By the end of week four, your child will have a personal toolkit of strategies they can actually use, and you'll know exactly how to support them when they need to calm down.
What we do

Each session includes you and your child together. We guide you through movement activities, play-based learning, and simple strategies you can practice at home. This isn't about changing your child. It's about understanding how their body works and giving them the physical and emotional tools they need to walk into year one feeling ready. You'll leave each session knowing exactly what to do and why it matters.

What will my child gain?

A stronger sense of their own body and what it can do. Practical tools to calm themselves when things feel big. More confidence moving through the world. Better understanding of left to right, spatial concepts, and how their body moves. And perhaps most importantly, parents who understand exactly how to support their development.

Just comfortable clothes and shoes they can move in. We provide all materials and equipment. A water bottle is helpful.
Do I stay the whole time?
Yes. Parents participate throughout so you're learning alongside your child and can continue these strategies at home. This is as much for you as it is for them.
What if my child gets overwhelmed?
Our facilitators are trained to support children who feel big feelings. We have a calm space available and can adjust activities to suit your child's needs. Your child's comfort is always our priority.
